“Best so far” The closest product I have found to regular whole milk. Mixed up a batch at home (dont like experiment on the trail) and my 5 year old son liked it better than the regular refrigerated version. Combining dry cereal from home with this product in a zipper bag is a surefire hit with kids who are finicky about breakfast. Also nice to have close by when preparing recipes requiring milk either a premix for an outing or in the kitchen when your running low in the fridge. -Steven, Lumberton, NC “Could have fooled me...” The bag i purchased was resealable and this is a great product. Thanks Backpackers Pantry. -Kansas “Darn good” When rating backpacking food I feel as though we need to remember it comes in a bag, freeze dried. For all that, it tasted really good. The meal comes with peanuts and a tube of peanut butter that really adds a nice flavor to the noodles. Unlike with most freeze-dried fare, flavor actually improved as the dish cooled. Plus, it comes in a stand-up pouch and is fortified with a natural multivitamin supplement.</br> Prepare yourself! You'll be thanking your stars that this dish could serve three people! If you don't split this meal into seperate containers, you'll be racing your partner to the bottom of the bag. “Should be called Beef Stroganoff with Black Pepper” I got called away after mixing this one up, so it had an additional 15 minutes to rest. When I first made it (2 1/2 cups of water) I was concerned, but after resting for approximately 20-25 minutes, both the consistency and texture were very good. “Two thumbs up!” Enough spice to be flavorful, but not too much for more sensitive pallets. I'm not a serious spicy food guy and I loved this. My wife is a spicier the better person and she loves this. This could have used a bit less water than suggested, or simmer it in the pot. Another hearty meal with full flavor. “Our Favorite piece of camping gear!” We've had one for about 8-10 years. It's been all over the country on backpack, canoe, and kayak trips. We LOVE it! We have the 8" and don't have problems w/ scorchinig the pot parka but our stove has good flame adjustment! -JRS, Madison, WI “Works like a charm” We take in those little Pillsbury cinnamin roll tubes (yeah, I know. Not very ultralight) and the Outback Oven works like a charm. My stove is one of those old (20 years old) MSR canister stoves (they look like the Whisperlite) and we've never had a problem.
