“Our Favorite piece of camping gear!” We've had one for about 8-10 years. It's been all over the country on backpack, canoe, and kayak trips. We LOVE it! Make everything from pizza to home-made apple pie! We even bought a second one we are keeping to replace ours when it wears out! We have the 8" and don't have problems w/ scorchinig the pot parka but our stove has good flame adjustment! -JRS, Madison, WI “Works like a charm” We take in those little Pillsbury cinnamin roll tubes (yeah, I know. Not very ultralight) and the Outback Oven works like a charm. My stove is one of those old (20 years old) MSR canister stoves (they look like the Whisperlite) and we've never had a problem. What a treat to have hot brownies or fresh pizza twenty miles from the trailhead! -Wilderness Dining “Consider the 10 inch!” The smaller diamater of the pot parka, combined with a hard-to-adjust stove, can make if difficult to prevent scorching the pot parka and creating a plume of smoke as one bakes. “Bye-Bye Bear Bags” We have had no issues with these canisters. They are easy to use and fit in our packs. Four seasons and counting... -Lulu, Orting, WA “Indestructable” I will never hang a bear bag again. This was a little heavy to carry at 2.5lbs, but the tradeoffs are worth it. No hanging bear bag. Thompson, Ojai, CA “My Favorite Bear Can so Far...” I've tried numerous bear cans over the years and this is the best I've used so far. I like the overall interior size and the weight is decent for a bear can. The lid is a little hard to open but a stick usually seems to do the trick. I like the clear plastic and the interior space is smooth and more efficient than other cans I've used. It has little dots on it that are supposedly for strapping it on a pack but they are so tiny they don't do much. Like all bear cans this size, they are supposed to hold 7 days of food but I must be a pig because I'm lucky to get in a weekend's worth of food. One word of warning, I've read that some parks like in NY do not allow these as the bears have learned to bounce on them and the pop open. -Deanna, Crested Butte, CO

“Great item for backpacking” This cozy was the hit of our weeklong backpacking trip into the Sierras. I bought it with the thought my homemade vacuum packed meals would re-hydrate more efficiently than when wrapped in my jacket (that I often wished I was wearing).
