“Wonderful surprise on a misty trail morning” This is just bursting with flavor, who would have thought. Nice spicy meal to get you started in the morning. The eggs are fluffy, the ham juicy, and the peppers are spicy, what more can you ask of a meal you add only boiling water too? -Peter, Olympia, WA “As good as prepacked scrambed can get” If you are not going to pack and cook real eggs, this is the next best thing. Better than the scrambled with Bacon. -Buck, New Jersey “Yummy (love the peppers)” Considering this comes in a bag and you just add boiling water, it's amazing. Add the water slowly though so you don't get a runny mess. Add maybe half or so and let that sit and then add a little more if you need it. The scambled eggs are a little spongy, they might remind you of the egg stuff used at McDonalds but its was pretty good. The bacon was fine too. Try out the other version of this meal that uses bacon which is also good. -Kevin Roberge, Old Town, Maine “Backpacker Magazine, June 2003” Just add boiling water to the new stand-up pouch and you get a tummy-full of fluffy eggs with deliciously juicy ham and lightly crunchy red and green peppers.</br> “Not all that great” After two days of backpacking, this was my breakfast. I had a hard time with it and did not manage the entire thing. It had a spoiled taste to it.Do give it a try, though. It's cheap, so buy some and eat it before you get out on the trail. Luckily I had oatmeal as a backup and just happened to be camping in a few hundred acres of blueberries, so I didn't have too bad a morning. But nothing's worse than waking up to a beautiful sky, warming up by the fire, and getting a mouthful of blech. -Oak Hill, WV

“So Good and So Easy” If you want a filling breakfast quick, add a little cold water and your ready to go. The milk and blueberries really hit the spot. -Hoosier, Connersville, IN “Yummmm......” Loved it on a chilly Michigan morning. Plenty for two. We like it a little thick with less than the called for water. -Krista, Claire, MI “Hot or cold it hits the spot!” I've had this meal on both long winter trips where the warm milk and granola really warms you up, and summer trips were all you need is the fresh blueberries and cold milk to set you day off right. Either way, this dish is versitle and a real hit! -Jeremiah, Fairbanks, Alaska “This is a 10!” Starting the day with a great meal is really a bonus while on the trail and this breakfast is first rate. Large berries, good mix of grains, not too sweet, and the milk is a nice touch. -Rob, Aurora, Ohio

“Best so far” The closest product I have found to regular whole milk. Mixed up a batch at home (dont like experiment on the trail) and my 5 year old son liked it better than the regular refrigerated version. Combining dry cereal from home with this product in a zipper bag is a surefire hit with kids who are finicky about breakfast. Also nice to have close by when preparing recipes requiring milk either a premix for an outing or in the kitchen when your running low in the fridge. -Steven, Lumberton, NC “Could have fooled me...” The bag i purchased was resealable and this is a great product. Had i not mixed it myself with cold enough water it can pass as the real thing... I used it for oatmeal as well and actually packed in a few butter packets scored from nearby a fast food joint... Just like home! -BackpackingGreenHorn, Northern California “Wish it came in a resealable bag” Pretty tasty as far as powdered milk goes, most likely because it is whole milk and not fat free. I usually make it up about a cup at a time to mix into my oatmeal. -Bill, Kabul, Afghanistan

“Quick Eggs” Pretty good. Surprisingly better than the Inertia trails brand but not as good as the Mountain House scrambled with Ham / peppers. -Buck, New Jersey “Wow!” Considering this comes in a bag and you just add boiling water, it's amazing. Add the water slowly though so you don't get a runny mess. Add maybe half or so and let that sit and then add a little more if you need it. The scambled eggs are a little spongy, they might remind you of the egg stuff used at McDonalds but its was pretty good. The bacon was fine too. “Not bad” This was okay. It was a bit too salty I thought. The potatoes look odd. I know it sounds weird but I like the little cubes of potatoes versus the shredded potatoes in this meal. That said, its not that bad. -Kevin Roberge, Old Town, Maine

“Beans Take Longer to rehydrate the directions say” We had these for breakfast summer 2013. We followed the directions to the letter, but the beans were hard. If I had these again, I would lengthen the soaking time. Nevertheless, the eggs were tasty, but you have to like spicy foods. If you don't like spicy, go for the AlpineAire cooked scrambled eggs instead, which are great. -Bruce S., Princeton Junction, NJ “Huevo Rancheros Heaven” We have this everytime we camp, you just have to add a little bit more water to it and serve it with spam and tortitias. -Bill and Ryan, Northern NJ “Huevo Rancheros” The ingredients sound enticing. This dish demands a slow cooking time. The spices were there, but the final product consistancy was not. -Kenai, Alaska

“Good for omlets.” This egg mix tasted better than I expected. It is difficult to make scrambled eggs with as the mixture even when watered down alot tends to rise a little like a pancake. Fortunately this is IDEAL for making omlets and fritattas. The resulting cooked egg tastes great without tasting too "eggy" and is light and fluffy. Not exactly the same texture as fresh egg, but good enough. This mixture also worked well as egg substitute in pancakes and johnnycake. I found the best way to rehydrate the powdered egg to avoid clumping was to shake it vigorously with water in a small nalgene bottle. -The Turk, Astoria, NY

“A definite winner!” My 3rd night dinner on a 6 night Glacier NP trip. Mixed in a piece of lowfat spam for some added protein but the taste would have been fantastic without it. Cook in bag instructions were right on for the amount of water, and the consistency was perfect. Definitely a favorite that will be in my bear can next month in Yosemite. -Kyle, Columbus, OH “Blech” Tried some at home before camping and glad I did. Mixed in the bag per instructions and let sit in cozy for full 10 min. The raisins were the only good part, other fruit was hard, and the flavoring was bland even with the included sugar. Glad I didn't go to the trouble of packing this in somewhere. -Niskibum, North Idaho
